It's not hard at all. You just have to go through all the paperwork and wait 4-6 weeks for multiple steps. It's a long process, but you don't do much work. Most of the time is spent just waiting for all the paperwork to be processed. There is a fee I think. Not too much though. Also, just remember that when you get your name changed, you don't have to, but you might want to update your passport and social security card. That will take more time, but it is a thorough process. Again, it's basically filling out papers and then mailing and waiting. Don't forget, your license should get changed too. After all that is done, everything should be good. And the positive side to the whole process is that it makes a great conversation starter!
Where I live, it's fairly simple. Go to the county courthouse, fill out a form and pay about $150.00. You may have to go in front of a judge to justify the change, but that is often just a formality, after all, Prince was able to get his name legally changed to that stupid symbol!
Not hard, but will cost you a lot of money. Ask a lawyer who will guide you to a place where you can change your name. That what Emilio Estevan, (Micheal Douglas's son) I hope I spelled both of their names right, did back in the early eighties.
The legal documentis called a %26quot;Deed-Pole%26quot; This is a simple contract with yourself, duely notorised, whereby you basiclly agree to live under the %26quot;new%26quot; name. Ask a localcourt clerk for details
I think you get some papers from City Hall...fill them in and appear before a judge...who will decide whether or not you can do it.
you can use any name you want as long as it is for legal purposes.

simply notify all your creditors, appropriate govenment agencies that as of a date of our choosing you will be known as whatever.

i did this years ago, changing the spelling of my first name and dropping my middle.

an attorney will charge you lotsa bux fopr soemthing you can do for nothing.
Depends on why you want to change it. Due to Marriage- you just take you marriage license to the Social Secutirty office and apply for a new SS Card in your new name- then you need to do the same for you drivers license. The smae thing is true for Divorce- you just take the Divorce decree. You may call to see who you need to change it with first, But I think you have to go to the SS office first.
no need to change... i love my last name...

it's a big given from my momma...
