I would like to change my name, but I need some suggestions on how I can convince her. I don't think it'll be hard, but I still want some back-up reason etc. Thank you, please don't tell me to keep the name my parents have given me, I have already heard this many times and I still would like to go ahead with my decision and change my name. tell them how you feel and that youve looked at this for a long time and you would really like to change your name and for u (ur parents) to back you up on it
ask them if you could keep the name they gave you as a middle name perhaps.

be happy with the name you were given. it's who you are. do you realize who much it would hurt your moms feelings if you chande it?? she gave it to you for a reason.

just be honest and tell your mom the truth, that you don't like your name for whatever reasons, tell her you just don't like it, don't like how it sounds and dont want to go on the rest of your life with this name because it makes you unhappy........again be honest, or tell her kids tease you about your name? be mature about it, if she still says no, you can do it on your own when you are 18............

A lot of kids go through that phase. You'll get over it. Just take on a nickname for awhile until it passes.
Are you really Mila Jay??? If not, it is hard to help you without knowing your name now, and the one you would choose. If you are Mila Jay and were hoping to be Mary Jay or Miley Jay or Michelle Jay or Millicent Jay or Molly Jay, your Mom will probably be easier to convince than if you plan to choose a name VERY different
