How to change your name and birth certificate?

I have a friend who is 19. He became a US citizen a year ago. He wants to change his name and his birth location.

No there is no crime or fraud involved.

So,

1. How do you change your name? (License, ID, Social Security, etc.)

2. How do you change your birth location? How to change your name and birth certificate? You can change your name, but not your birth location! (I think.)

Like, you can't change your birthday, I think it's like that.
How to change your name and birth certificate?
You can't
How to change your name and birth certificate?
%26quot;How do you change your birth location%26quot;???? WHAT??!! You can't change that you were born where you were born obviously....he was born once so you can't change that it is what it is

To change your name you have to fill out a form and get it notarized by attorney then sent in and you have to wait for confirmation. Here's a link to all the states name change forms: http://www.uslegalforms.com/changeofname鈥?/a>
You can change your name, that's not usually a problem. You simply need to petition the courts to allow you to do so.

As far as location...you cannot change ANYTHING on your birth certificate unless you can prove that it is false. A birth certificate is an affidavit, it testifies to the truth of a matter...in this case, the birth of a human being.

What is on it is not considered subjective, rather it is the objective truth as sworn to by a licensed professional. If your friend's birth certificate is from another country, he will have to have that country attest to it being wrong in order to change it.

I've personally met a man who was from Haiti, where births are not tracked accurately. His birth certificate has him born 2 YEARS later than he actually was born, and the government will not attest to the accurate birth day (no one legally knows it, just his immediate family...many of whom are dead of missing). The guy is a citizen now, and he is legally 2 years younger than he literally is.

Astounding, of course. But the fact is...you cannot change %26quot;legal%26quot; history any more than you can change actual history.
Changing a name is completely legal. It does not alter the old record.. it becomes a new record to be used with the birth certificate.

However.. you cannot change the location because that is a factual piece of information.
First, you must file for a legal name change. You will receive a court date and he can mention that to the judge If he wants. The judge will help him fix his problem. Or he can just keep quiet and if his legal name change is approved he will be able to use his certified copy of the name change form, that's signed by a judge, to get a copy of his license, social security card, and even a copy of his birth certificate with his new legal name.

I just had to help a friend with the same problem too just last week. You can get everything you need at the website below.
