I am looking for a cheap way to change my last name. I am 22 years old and would like to take on my step dads name instead of the one that I currently have. I see many forms online but most of them you have to pay for. Is there anyway to do it for free or very very cheap??How can I change my name in Illinois?go to the county clerks office and ask them. it may only cost you the price of the filing which would be quite cheap

I'm in IL and looked into it a couple months back. You can get and do the forms yourself for free but filing and all that costs around $300 give or take $50 bucks.
