I need to know if this can be done, I have heard about Deed Pole, however I'm unsure as to whether this would change the name on your birth certificate or just make it easier to inform other parties.
If there is a way to change your forename and surname could you please tell me how?
Thank you very much in advance. Can you change the name legally on your birth certificate? In the UK, no.
Your birth certificate will always remain the same, as it was signed and dated at the time your birth was registered.
If you change your name by deed poll via a solicitor (you can change your forename, surname or both this way), you will receive a %26quot;certificate of name change%26quot; which will need to produce when changing your details on your bank accounts, passport or when informing any other parties. Can you change the name legally on your birth certificate?Yeah, it costs like 拢20, it's nothingCan you change the name legally on your birth certificate?Of course, file a petition for change of name, serve all interested parties... go to court.... change your name. It's not too complicated unless someone objects.
Contact a paralegal or attorney in your area to prepare the forms.
I change birth certificate names ALL THE TIME... including, parents names (adoptions) and birth names. In fact, I adopted two children changed their names and their birth certificates there is NO record of their previous name in any offical state document.
Those that say otherwise have no idea what they are talking about. No not on your birth certificate... If your Bob on that you cant change it to BellaYes you can.A court can issue an order for a name change and the birth certificate would be amended to show this change, but the original name (on the certificate) will never change. No you can't your birth name can never be changed on documentation.
However, if you were to change your name by deed-pole, this will have documentation to show that you have legally changed your name. You cannot change anything that is on your birth certificate because it is a legal document. You can change your name by deed poll and that would be your legal name from that moment on, but your birth certificate will remain the same. I believe you would have to have a kind of official covering note to explain the difference in names. You can change your name, but you can't change your birth certificate. This is a record of what you were called at birth. You can change your name by Deed Poll (which is a legal document) or by Statutory Declaration. Either way you get a piece of paper to show your new name. You then use that along with your birth certificate to prove who you are.You can't change the name on your birth certificate. You can, however, legally change your name by deed poll. You can legally change your name, however it will be with separate documentation. Your birth certificate cannot be changed.depending on your's country law, like in Nigeria its allowed to change your name through court procedureNot in the UK, you can change your name by deed poll or just use another name as long as it is not fraudulent - which is why it's better to do it by deed poll! You can not alter details on a birth certificate. You did (not sure if you still can) used to be able to add a middle name to a childs birth certificate, up to 9 months after the birth cert. was issued, but not change or add any other details.yesIn the UK, your birth certificate is never changed - this is a permanent record of your birth. If you wish to adopt another name, it is your right to do so at any time - you dno't need a Deed Poll. You just inform everyone you have dealings with that you have changed your name. Don't let banks, etc bully you into doing a Deed Poll - it is not necessary. But your birth certificate will never change.
