How do you change the name on registration papers?

Next month, i am going to be owning my horse that i have been leasing. how do i go about changing the name on the registration papers under the appaloosa horse club?How do you change the name on registration papers?The owner has what is called a transfer slip. It's a peice of paper basically a bill of sale. You sign it, the former owner signs it and it is dated. You then send it and the registrations papers back to the association with your registratioon transfer fee and membership fee and just wait. It usuallu takes a few weeks for them to come back unless you express it which costs additional $$$$. BTW if you opt to become an APHC member the transer fees adn all other asscociation fees are cheaper!!! Have fun owning your appy:)

The owner of the horse will give you the papers on the horse you fill out a form send it in they will mail it back with your name on it just ask who ever your buying the horse from they will tell you how they did it.

The owner will have to sign the papers usually on the back saying he is the %26quot;Seller%26quot;. Then you fill out the section for the %26quot;Buyer%26quot;. The name and address will be the one's the registry uses as the new owner. Find out the transfer fee and send it to the registry along with the signed papers. The registry will issue new registration papers showing you as the horse's owner.

The owner should give you the papers with a signed transfer. Or they fill it in with your info and send it in for you. Make sure if they send it in your bill of sale states the papers were sent in by the seller, etc. You can look at the appy website for their exact process as well.
